when i first met jonathon perrelli, he showed me program guides from distilled intelligence 1.0 and 2.0. about a year and a half later, we were distributing program guides at distilled intelligence 3.0.
distilled intelligence 3.0 hosted 100 founders representing 65 startups and 250+ investors, service providers, operators and friends at the lansdowne resort for a four-day summit. you can read more about my takeaways from distilled intelligence here.
when i re-started fortify ventures in april 2024 with jonathon, we were starting fresh. given the 12 year gap between funds, there was no infrastructure, no service providers, and no workflows that we could carry over to the new fund. everything had to be built from scratch.
i went out, and started doing research on some of the best tools and practices for starting a venture fund. thousands of blogs, youtube channels, and newsletters exist for startup founders - surely something had to exist for fund managers, too. i was wrong.
the only logical next step was for me to document every step of the process, and every underlying decision, and start this resource myself. today, two and twenty serves to bridge the information gap that exists in a decentralized and fragmented ecosystem, acting as a central repository for information.

the hardest thing about being a founder is shutting down your business. as an investor, i have observed dozens of founders close the doors on perfectly great businesses, simply because they cannot achieve venture scale but have raised venture dollars. passkey advisors was born out of this observation - and out of a desire to give founders and investors a more favorable outcome than a pure zero.
